University of Virginia Facilities Management volunteers rebuilt her previously unsafe porch and steps for an elderly woman in Crozet.


State Farm volunteers organized a County Fair at Western Albemarle Senior Center in Crozet. This volunteer led a game of bingo; other activities included a dance, ring toss, penny toss and watermelon seed spitting contest.


University of Virginia volunteers removed stakes from 45 trees in the Brownsville Elementary School Arboratum of Native Species. Then they weeded and mulched around the trees.




Volunteers from Sprint worked hard at Literacy Volunteers of America to copy and address flyers about the program that they can mail to residents of low-income neighborhoods to recruit new students for the Fall.




GE Fanuc volunteers even out the dirt steps at Barrett Day Care Center, making it safer for children to play on the playground.
