Day of Caring 2004 Statistics

  • 75 nonprofit agencies and schools hosted Day of Caring projects.

  • 160 projects were completed in one day.

  • 61 volunteer teams completed meaningful projects in our community.
  • 1,395 volunteers participated.

  • Volunteers contributed more than 6,500 hours of service.

  • According to the 2004 Virginia Average Hourly Value of Volunteer Time ($17.79/hour), volunteers gave over $115,600 worth of service to the community.

  • In addition, sponsors donated thousands of dollars worth of materials, supplies and expertise to make these projects possible.
